Built without a permit? We can fix that.
Decks, basements, garages and suites that were finished without a permit, documented and permitted after the fact.
Why it matters
Unpermitted work often surfaces when a home is sold, refinanced or insured. Buyers, lenders and realtors may ask for proof that the work was permitted, and an open question can hold up a deal.
How it works
- Site visit. We measure and photograph what was built.
- As-built drawings. We draw the work as it exists today.
- Permit application. We submit it and handle the municipality's questions.
- Inspection. The inspector may ask to see work behind finished surfaces, or ask for changes to meet code.
For realtors and buyers
If a listing has an unpermitted deck, basement or suite, we can review it and explain what it would take to permit, so everyone knows what they are dealing with before closing.
How it works
Three steps from idea to issued permit.
Information collection
We gather the information we need, such as your Real Property Report and photos, and sometimes conduct a site visit.
Drawings and review
We prepare your drawings, typically within 5 to 10 business days, and send you a draft to review and approve before anything is submitted.
Submission and approval
We submit the application on your behalf and handle the municipality's questions and revisions until your permit is issued.
